John McAlister for Mountain View City Council
Welcome

As a 55 year resident of Mountain View, my goal is to improve the quality of life for the residents of Mountain View. We must have a financially sound city government; a general plan that assures the infrastructure is in place before growth is approved and respects the unique character of each neighborhood; and business districts that generate strong sales tax dollars.  We need to manage the assets of the city (open space, parks, library, sports fields, and city buildings) to continue to provide long term benefits and are sustainability into the future for our children.  My collected life experiences give me the knowledge, experience and wisdom that no other candidate represents in our diverse population.  I attended Mountain View schools, graduated from UC Berkeley, and obtained my CPA certificate. As a small business owner of the local Baskin Robbins, I not only understand commerce but also the importance of education which is why my business helps raise funds for local schools.   My wife and I are raising two children who attend Mountain View High and Cal Poly.  I served on the school site council and was treasurer for the PTA, and I’m currently on the Environment Planning Commission. I would appreciate your support and vote.
